Answer:

a-5+a-3+a-1+a+1+a+3=60

5a-5=60

5a=65

a=13

a-5=8

a-3=10

a-1=12

a+1=14

a+3=16

here smallest number is 8 and greatest number is 16 .

so 1/2 times is the smallest number,that of the greatest number and , 2 times is the greatest number that of the smallest number.

Answer:

the smallest  number is 1/2 times smaller than that of the greatest number

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the five consecutive even numbers be x-4 , x-2 , x , x+2 , x+4

Given: (x-4 + x-2 + x + x+2 + x+4)/5 =12

5x/5 = 12

x = 12

smallest no. = 12 - 4 = 8

greatest no. = 12 + 4 = 16

Q. How many times is the smallest  number, that of the greatest number?

Take ratio of smallest no. and greatest no.

=8:16

=1:2

the smallest  number is 1/2 times smaller than that of the greatest number
