6

Answer :

11 , 5

Solution :

Let the required numbers be a and b such that a > b .

Now ,

According to the question , the difference between the numbers is 6 .

→ a - b = 6 -------(1)

Also ,

It is given that , the A.M.(Arithmetic Mean) between the numbers is 8 .

→ (a + b)/2 = 8

→ a + b = 8 × 2

→ a + b = 16 -------(2)

Now ,

Adding eq-(1) and (2) , we get ;

→ (a - b) + (a + b) = 6 + 16

→ 2a = 22

→ a = 22/2

→ a = 11

Now ,

Putting a = 11 in eq-(2) , we get ;

→ a + b = 16

→ 11 + b = 16

→ b = 16 - 11

→ b = 5

Hence ,

The required numbers are 11 and 5 .
