Distance between school and church = 3cm on map

Scale given = 1cm on map = 2,25,000cm on ground = 2,250m = 2.25km

So, 3cm on map= 2.25km×3= 6.75km

Hope it helps!

GivEn:

  • Distance between church and school in map is 3 cm.
  • The scale used in map is 1 cm = 225000cm.

To finD:

  • Actual distance between church and school.

Solution:

Given that on map, distance between church and school is 3 cm.

So,

Actual distance will be 3 × 225000 because 1cm of map distance is 225000cm in actual

Hence,

1cm of map = 225000cm

so,

3cm of map = 3 × 225000 = 675000cm

Therefore,

Actual distance between church and school is 675000cm OR 6750m OR 6.75 km
