Dimensions of the floor of the room

Length 6m

breadth - 4.2m

Area of the entire room

Area = l*b

= 6*4.2

= 25.2 square metre

the floor has a border of green marble of 20cm = 0.2 m

New Length = l - 2 w = 6 - (2*0.2) = 5.6 m

New Breadth = B-Day 2w = 4.2 -(2*0.2) = 3.8m

New Area = l*b

5.6*3.8

= 21.28 square metre

Area = area of entire floor - area of white marble

= 25.2- 21.28

= 3.92 square metre
