3. The given figure shows a small garden. The shaded area is
reserved for planting flowers and the rest of the area is for
grass. Find the ratio of the area of the garden reserved for
planting flowers to the area reserved for grass.

Area of garden=12*5
=60
Area to plant flowers=8*3
=24
Area for grass=Ar of garden- Ar to plant flowers
=60-24
=36
Ratio of area of garden and area to be covered with grass
=60/36
=5/3
=5:3
