Length = 300 m and breadth = 100 m.

Length of the rectangular field = l.

Breadth of the reactangular field = b.

ATQ,

l = 3b

l - 3b = 0

.....Eqn 1

ATQ,

perimeter = 400 meters

2(l + b) = 400

l + b = 200

l + b - 200 = 0

.....Eqn 2

Solving pair of linear equations in two variables with substitution method....!!!

From Eqn 1 ,

l = 3b

Putting this value in Eqn 2 ,

3b - b - 200 = 0

2b = 200

b = 100

Therefore, breadth of the rectangular field = 100 m.

Length =

l = 3b = 3 \times 100 = 300 \: m
