Answer:

Area of the rectangle:-1200 sq cm

Area of a square:-Side x side

30 x 30=900 sq cm

40 x 40 =3600 sq cm

So therefore ,35 x 35= 1225 sq cm

So the answer is the are of a square with a side of 35 cm

And its area is 1125 sq cm

Answer:

Area of the largest square = 1156

Side of the square =34

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of rectangle = l×b

= 40×30

= 1200

Area of rectangle = 1200

the nearest square to 1200 is 32².

So, 34²=1156

Hence, the area of the largest square that will be closest to the area of the rectangle is a square of 34cm .

Side of a square = Square root of area

=

 \sqrt{1156}

So, side of the square is 34.
