The perpendicular distance of point denoted by ( x , y ) from the X - axis is equal to its y coordinates ( y ) and from the Y - axis, it is equal to the x coordinate ( x ).

P = ( x , y ) = ( 4 , 6 )

Hence, the perpendicular distance from

X - axis is equal to y which is 6. Similarly,

the perpendicular distance from Y - axis

is equal to y which is 4.

Answer:

x-axis is always positive for x but in given condition, it is shown negative.

If we observe from negative x- axis i e then this point is -6 units away from it.
