3 The plant in this picture is called Bryophyllum.
The leaves are thick, fleshy and store water. There are very few
stomata on the leaves, so that very little water is lost from the
leaves through transpiration. These adaptations of the
Bryophyllum plant help it to survive in hot and sunny places
where it grows naturally.
Mini planted a Bryophyllum plant in a large pot and made sure the soil was
covered with water. She placed the pot on her balcony. After a week, she notic
the plant's leaves had got discoloured and had begun to fall off.
What could the MOST LIKELY reason be?
A. There was too much soil in the pot.
B. The plant was given too much water.
C. The plant received too much sunlight.
D. There was too much air around the plant.
