To find : missing rational number .

Given : The product of two rational number is \frac{2}{5} .

            One of the rational number  = \frac{-8}{25}

Solution :

  • Let missing rational number be x.
  • As per the given data we write given condition as -

          \frac{-8}{25}\times ( x) = \frac{2}{5}

         = \frac{-8x}{25} = \frac{2}{5}

  • By cross multiplying terms we find the value of x.

       x = \frac{-25\times 2}{5\times 8}

       x = \frac{-50}{40}

On simplifying we get , x = \frac{-5}{4}

Hence , another missing rational number is \frac{-5}{4} .
