1. Let us assume that the angle ABC is 90°.

2. Area of triangle ABD is 0.5*(5*12) = 30. Now we have to find area of triangle BCD

3. Using Pythagoras we get BD 13m.

4. The sides of triangle BCD are 13m, 14m and 15m

5. Using Heron's formula we get area = 84.

6. Total area of ABCD is 30 + 84 = 114 sq. metres
