(3) The sun rises two hours earlier in Arunachal Pradesh as compared to Gujarat in the west but the watches show the same time. How does this happen?

Ans:- As the longitudinal gap between Arunachal Pradesh and Gujarat is about 30 degrees, the time lag between these two states is two hours. Since Arunachal Pradesh is situated in the east, the sun rises earlier here compared to Gujarat in the west. But the watch shows the same time because of the Standard Meridian of India.

(4) The central location of India at the head of the Indian Ocean is considered of great significance. Why?

Ans:- India is strategically located as it connects to the West Asia and Europe from the West coast of India and it can easily connect through maritime routes with Southeast Asian nations and East Asian nations and Australia. A large part of the world's trade passes through the Indian Ocean.
