3. The table below gives in percentage the number of office goers who used different modes of transport
to go to work in the years 2019 and 2020 as well as their projected figures for the year 2021. Study
the data carefully and then summarise it in the form of an analytical paragraph. Make comparisons
and draw conclusions wherever appropriate.

Answer:
Analytical paragraph to summarize data for the percentage of officegoers who used different modes of transport to go to work in the year 2019, 2020, 2021
Explanation: Let us take people driving own car in year 2019 as N or none.
Almost 27 % of officegoers preferred walking to office in the year 2019. This percentage declined to 1% in the year 2020 while no one preferred to walk to office the following year i.e. 2021. A similar trend was observed with people preferring to use bicycle as their mode of transport to reach office. Data shows decline for the same from 39% in 2019 to 11% in 2020 and only 7% in 2021.
An opposite trend was seen for people using their own car and motorcycle/ scooter to drive to office. In the year 2019 N or none used their own car to commute to office which increased to 31% in 2020 and 41% in 2021. This proves that purchasing power of people has increased over 2 years.
Talking of use of Bus, the officegoers preferred using bus more in the years 2019 and 2021 than 2020.
It is heartening to see that use of trains has increased from just 9% in 2019 to 12% in 2020 and to 17% in 2021.
The data provided indicates that more and more people have been able to purchase their own means of transport over two years i.e. from 2019 to 2021 and now do not prefer walking or cycling to office. The use of Bus and Local was most in the year 2020.
