See, coastal regions usually have a moderate temperature. This is because of the land breeze and sea breeze. Land breeze occurs during the night while sea breeze occurs during the day. During the daytime, when the sun shines down brightly, the land gets heated up faster than the water. So, the air above the land is naturally hotter than the air above the sea. The hot air is lighter than the cold air. So, it rises. The cool air of the sea rushes in to take its place. So it forms a kind of cycle (image attached below). The exact opposite happens during the night, as the land cools down faster than the sea. The hot air from the sea rises, and the cool air of the land takes its place. These breezes cause the regulation of temperature, and so it is always moderate in coastal areas. In Delhi, this is not the case. So there are always extreme temperatures there.
