Given: 3 times a number increased by 7 is 25.

We have to find the number.

We are solving in the following way:

Let assume the number be 'x'.

From the given statement we can write:

3x+7=25

Solving the above equation further we get,

\begin{array}{l}\Rightarrow 3 x+7=25 \\\\\Rightarrow 3 x=25-7 \\\\\Rightarrow x=\frac{18}{3} \\\\\Rightarrow x=6\end{array}

Hence, the number will be6.
