GIVEN :

  • mass of solute=36 g
  • mass of solvent=100g

TO FIND:

  • concentration

SOLUTION:

conc \:   =  \frac{mass \: of \: solute}{mass \: of \: solvent}

conc =  \frac{36}{100}

conc = 0.36

\%conc = 36\%

We have,

a saturated solution which has

Mass of solute (here, sodium chloride)= 36 grams

Mass of solvent (here, water)= 100 grams

Temperature= 293 K or 20° C

Mass of solution = Mass of solute + Mass of solvent

⇒Mass of solution= 36 grams + 100 grams

⇒Mass of solution= 136 grams

To find the concentration of the solution, we have the formulaConcentration=\frac{Mass of solute}{Mass of solution} * 100

Concentration=\frac{36}{136} *100

Concentration= 26.4705%

or Concentration=26.48% approx.
