This is called Biomagnefication.When some small amounts of non degradable chemicals enter into a food chain then they get accumulated and get concentrated in large amounts at higher tropic levels.Since humans are the last tropic level i.e they eat plants , these chemicals get accumulated in large amounts in their bodies.hope it helped you
