Given : equations

a) 3x+4y = 5

(b) 4r-3y+ 12 = 0

To Find :  Transform the following equations into

a) slope-intercept form

(b) intercept form and

(c)normal  form

Solution:

slope-intercept form  :  y=mx+b

intercept form x/a  + y/b  = 1

normal  form   ax + by + c = 0

3x+4y = 5

slope-intercept form  :  y = (-3/4)x  + 5/4

intercept form x/(5/3)  + y/(5/4)  = 1

normal  form   3x + 4y - 5 = 0

4x-3y+ 12 = 0

slope-intercept form  :  y = (4/3)x  + 4

intercept form x/-3  + y/4  = 1

normal  form   4x + (-3)y + 12 = 0
