3. Two charges + q and - q, each of mass m,
are revolving in a circle of radius R, under
mutual electrostatic force. Find (i) speed of
each charge (ii) kinetic energy of the system
(iii) potential energy of the system and

Answer:

first we have to calculate the velocity of the charge particle which can be found out by balancing the forces that actually moving the charges in circle

then we find the kinetic energy of a charge particle by

1 \div 2mv {}^{2} \\ 1 \div 2m \times kq {}^{2} \div rm \\ 1 \div 2kq {}^{2} \div r

and hence worth kinetic energy of the system will be

kq ^{2} \div r

similarly potential energy of a charge which is twice of kinetic energy in this case will be

 - kq {}^{2} \times \div r

and for the system it will be twice of a charge and total energy which is same as kinetic energy with negative sign I am sure you can find that easily. hope it's help
