Answer:
When liquid is heated, the kinetic energy of liquid molecules increases. Due to increase of kinetic energy, certain molecules start escaping from the surface of liquid (evaporation) At a point during heating liquid, at certain temperature, vapour pressure of liquid becomes equal to external pressure (boiling point) and the liquid starts boiling. At this point, bubbles are able to be formed within the interior of liquid and then rise to the surface, where they burst and release vapours. Thus, liqid is converted onto gas.
