when the number is divisible by both 2 and 3 then the number is divisible by 6

(1) 456

456 is divisible by both 2 and 3 so it is also divisible by 6

(2) 789

789 is divisible by 3 but not divisible by 2 ...so it is not divisible by 6 also ...

A number is divisible by 6 , if it is divisible by 2 and 3 .

For Example : -

2516736 it is divisible by 6 because it is divisible by both 2 and 3... 2 + 5 + 1 + 6 + 7 + 3 + 6 = 30 .

Now : -

(1) 456

456 is divisible by 6 as it is divisible by both 2 and 3 .

(2) 789

789 is not divisible by 6 because it is not divisible by 2 but divisible by 3.

Divisibility Rule of 2 : -

A no. is divisible by 2 , if it has any one of the digit 0 , 2 , 4 , 6 or 8 in its once place.

For Example : - 126 , 3078 , 5916 ....

Divisibility Rule of 3 is : -

A no. is divisible by 3 , if the sum of its digit is divisible by 3.

For Example : - 5133 = 5+1+3+3 = 12
