To solve this question, you simply have to substitute the values.

a = 20 ; b = (-10) ; c = 5

∴ a ÷ (b + c) ≠ (a ÷ b) + (a ÷ c)

⇒ 20 ÷ ((-10) + 5) ≠ (20 ÷ (-10)) + (20 ÷ 5)

Now, solve the L.H.S. (Left-Hand-Side) and the R.H.S. (Right-Hand-Side) and verify the statement.

L.H.S. = 20 ÷ ((-10) + 5) = 20 ÷ (-5) = (-4)

R.H.S. = (20 ÷ (-10)) + (20 ÷ 5) = (-2) + 4 = 2

Clearly, (-4) and 2 are not equal.

∴ The statement is verified.
