3. Verify the following properties for each of the given values of a, b and c.
Property 1: a = (b + c) * (a + b) + c
Property 2: a (b + c) = (a * b) + (a * c)
Property 3: a * (b-c) = (a + b)-(a* c)
a. a=-1, b = 11 and c = 2

Answer:

Result: All other properties are fales, except third property with the values of b part.

Step-by-step explanation:

Property 1:

(b+c)*(a+b)+c

=ba+b^2+ca+cb+c

Put values of a;

=(11*-1)+(11)^2+(2*-1)+(2*11)+2

=-11+121+-2+22+2

=132

Put values of b;

=(1*-3)+(1)^2+(4*-3)+(4*1)+4

=-4

Property 2:

a(b+c)=(a*b)+(a*c)

Put values of a;

-1(11+2)=(-1*11)+(-1*2)

-22=-11-2

-22=-13

Put values of b;

-3(1+4)=(-3*1)+(-3*4)

-12=-3-12

-12=-15

Property 3:

a * (b-c) = (a + b)-(a* c)

Put values of a;

-1(11-2)=(-1+11)-(-1*2)

-9=10+2

-9=12

Put values of b;

-3(1-4)=(-3+1)-(-3*4)

9=-2+12

9=9
