Case 1:-
p(1) = (1)^2 + 2(1) + 1
= 1 + 2 + 1
= 4
Therefore, 1 is not a zero of the given equation.
Case 2:-
Substitute -1 in the place of y....
p(-1) = (-1)^2 + 2(-1) + 1
= 1 + (-2) + 1
= 2 - 2
= 0
Therefore, (-1) is a zero of the given equation.
