If the vocal chord is tight and thin it will produce a high frequency sound or you can say that it will produce high pitch sound ( as pitch of the sound is directly depends on the frequency of the sound). a thick and loose vocal chord will produce the sound of low frequency or low pitch
Sound is produced when aerodynamic phenomena cause vocal folds to vibrate rapidly in a sequence of vibratory cycles with a speed of about: 110 cycles per second or Hz (men) = lower pitch. 180 to 220 cycles per second (women) = medium pitch.

(a) The frequency produced by tight and thin vocal chords is quite high. i.e. its high pitch sound. (b) The frequency produced by loose and thick vocal chords is quite low i.e. its low pitch sound.
