Given :- What is the next term of the arithmetic sequence 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, ...?

A. 16

C. 18

B. 17

D. 19

Solution :-

3, 6, 9, 12, 15________ is an A.P series in which,

  • First term a = 3
  • Common difference between two consecutive term , is d = 3

So, nth term can be calculated as :-

  • Tn = a + (n - 1) * d

we have to find next term which is 6th term of the given AP series .

Therefore,

→ T(n) = a + (n - 1)d

→ T(6) = a + (6 - 1)d

→ T(6) = a + 5d

→ T(6) = 3 + 5*3

→ T(6) = 3 + 15

→ T(6) = 18 . (C) (Ans.)

Hence, the next term of the arithmetic sequence is 18.
