The actual problem that lead to the suffering of tricki was overfeeding and excessive pampering which were shown by Mrs. pumphrey .

The actual problem suffered was over pampering.

• The question has been asked from the story A Triumph of Surgery
• Mrs Pumphery was a resourceful lady with huge number of servants at her disposal. Both Pumphery and Tricki were living a luxurious life as everything was easily available.
• Being attached to the dog , she took utmost care for the well being of her pet. She would feed the dog with malt, a bowl of Horlicks and also use oil everyday.
• As a result, the dog got sick due to overeating, however she thought it was due to weakness and she began to give him more food.
• The dog became so obese due to this over pampering that entire time it was on his couch and couldn't even go for a stroll.
