let x be 1

then,

f(1) = 2*1³ - 5*1² + 1 + 2 = 0

= 2 - 5 + 3 = 0

f(1) = 0 = 0

If x = 1 satisfy the equation then,

(x-1) if one of the factor of the above equation.

On dividing f(x) by (x-1) the another factor we get is 2x² - 3x - 2.

On factorising 2x² - 3x - 2 we get,

(2x+1)(x-2)

so the 3 factors of f(x) are (x-1)(2x+1)(x-2).
