Answer:

a=5

d=-3

l=-40. (l is the last term)

l=a+(n-1)d

Putting values

-40=5+(n-1)-3

-45/-3=n-1

15=n-1

16=n

This is the answer

Answer:

Hey mate here is your answer :

Here Given that :

a (First term) = 5

d (common difference) = 2-5

d = -3

an (last term) = -40

We know that,

an = a + (n-1)d

-40 = 5 + (n-1) -3

-40 = 5 - 3n + 3

8 - 3n = -40

-3n = -40 - 8

3n = 48

n = 48/3

n = 16

Thus, 16th term of tha Ap is -40.

Minus-minus get cancelled each other.
