: the servant take the broken heart and the dead bird as the most precious things because they helped the poor without thinking of their own good. the prince gave away all the precious stones and gold leaves whereas swallow sacrificed his own life so that happy prince could help them.

4)Answer: Since the prince had given away the two sapphires of his eyes to the people in need, he had become blind. Touched by his kindness and to give him support, the swallow decided to stay with the prince always.
