Cycle brakes have a different mechanism.When you apply brakes, the rubber pads rub to the wheels.Nad due to friction, it stops. If used frequently, this causes wear and tear in those pads. So, avoid any further damage from the worn out pads, they are replaced frequently... Hope it helps...!

The brake pads of the bicycle needs to be replaced frequently to ensure that they work properly to stop the bicycle. When we use brakes again and again the brake pads are eaten away due to friction which may result in slipping of the brake pads on the rim of the cycle when brake is applied.
