Leaves are attached to the body of trees by Petioles. These are strong enough to hold leaves firmly. But sometimes when the force exerted by us on the tree s larger, it overcomes the strength of petioles and detaches the leaf from the tree.

Secondly, Leaves are used for production of food but when these leaves are no more capable to produce food efficiently,

  • The plant starts storing unwanted toxins and wastes in the vacuoles of leaves' cells
  • Due to this, the leaf dries and so thus the petioles.
  • Then the waste carrying leaf simply detaches even because of a blow of wind.
