Explanation:Delhi is the capital of India. It is a beautiful city. It stands on the bank of river Yamuna. Delhi was born during the Mahabharata time, about 1000 BC. Since then it took seven births. During this period, it faced Aryans, Mughals and the Britishers. Delhi is divided into two parts – Old Delhi and New Delhi. New Delhi is very beautiful. It was constructed by Lutyens. The old Delhi was constructed during the Mughal period. Old Delhi is very crowded. In New Delhi, there are beautiful parks and gardens. Nehru Park, Talkatora Garden, Lodhi Garden and Buddha Park are worth seeing gardens. Old Delhi has very majestic buildings of great historical importance too. Delhi is a great center of trade, industries and education. Karol Bagh, Chandni Chowk, Connaught Place and Lajpat Nagar are beautiful and famous shopping markets. Delhi is the heart of India. Delhi is a historical city. The old buildings remind us about its glorious past. The people come to Delhi to see the historical places like Qutab Minar, Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Parliament  House, National Museum, Gurudwara Sis Ganj, India Gate and Zoo. I like it very much. Today Delhi has a rapid transport system in the country with its Metro-trains and government has decided to make it a world class city.

Delhi

Delhi is one of the four biggest cities of India. The other three such cities are Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. In one respect at least, Delhi tops all the other three cities. It is in the matter of the number of auto-vehicles. The number of vehicles that ply on the roads of Delhi is more than their number in the other three big cities all put together.

Delhi is the Capital of India It has for centuries been the Capital of India except for certain brief breaks here and there. It was because before partition, it lay almost in the heart of the country. Its importance, however, has not diminished after Independence.

Delhi is sometimes called the city of kings. Having been the Capital of various dynasties in the past, it has several monuments and places worth-seeing.

Some of such famous places are the Red Fort, the Jama Masjid, the Birla Mandir, the India Gate, the Qutub Minar, the Connaught Place, Gurdwara Bangla Saheb, the Gurdwara Sis Ganj, Gurdwara Rakab Ganj, Jantar Mantar, etc. Some of the famous universities in Delhi are – Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, jamia Millia Islamia, Guru Gobind Singh University, Indira Gandhi National Open University, etc.

There are also a large number of libraries, museums and art galleries in Delhi. Some of the famous hospitals of Delhi are All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Mool Chand Hospital, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Safdarjang Hospital, Kalawati Hospital, Sucheta Kripalani Hospitial, Loknayak Jayaprakash Hospital,etc.

Life in Delhi is very tiring. It has a population of over 10 million. The seat of legislature, the Parliament, is situated in Delhi. Rastrapati Bhawan, the President’s residence is also located in Delhi. It is the Secretariat – the North Block and the South Block – where the policies of the government are formulated. Various government departments have their headquarters in Delhi. Delhi is a great centre of trade. Nobody can feel bored there. One should have money enough to entertain oneself, besides finding the employment and hobby of his taste .
