Given,

Write following statements using the symbol of variation.

Solution,

(1) Circumference (c) of a circle is directly proportional to its radius(r).

Know that circumference is directly proportional to radius.

\[\begin{array}{l}C \propto r\\ \Rightarrow C = 2\pi r\end{array}\]

(2) Consumption of petrol (p) in a car and distance travelled by that car (d) are in direct variation.

Know that consumption of petrol in a car is increases as the distance travelled by car increases.

\[\begin{array}{l}p \propto d\\ \Rightarrow p = kd\end{array}\]
