In my opinion, we cannot completely ban keeping pets but only the ones who have no concept/ idea of how to take care of pets, i.e the ones who think of them as 'just animals', rather than making a full and complete commitment to adopt them as our children, as complete and equal family members and keep them safe & healthy should be allowed to keep pets with proper license and registration. And people who show cruelty against them should also be punished.
