Given 3/x-1 + 1/x-3 = 4/x-2.

          3(x-3)(x-2) + (x-1)(x-2) = 4(x-1)(x-3)

          3(x^2 - 5x + 6) + (x-1)(x-2) = 4(x-1)(x-3)

         3x^2 - 15x + 18 + (x-1)(x-2) = 4(x^2 - 4x + 3)

         3x^2 - 15x + 18 + x^2 - 3x + 2 = 4x^2 - 16x + 12

         4x^2 - 18x + 20 = 4x^2 - 16x + 12

         4x^2 - 18x = 4x^2 - 16x - 8

         -2x = -8

           x = 4.

Hope this helps!
