3x-3/2 = 4x-2/2

2(3x-3) = 2(4x-2)

6x-6 = 8x-4

6x-8x = -4+6

-2x = 2

x = -2/2

x = -1

Hope this helps.......

Concept

By multiplying the numerator of the first fraction by the denominator of the second fraction and the numerator of the second fraction by the denominator of the first fraction, we do cross multiplication.

Given

The equation given is 3(x-1)/4-2 = 5x-x-2/2

Find

We need to solve the given the expression

Solution

Given expression = 3(x-1)/4-2 = 5x-x-2/2

\frac{3x-3}{4}-2 = \frac{4x-2}{2}

\frac{3x-3-8}{4}=\frac{4x-2}{2}

2(3x-11)=4(4x-2)

6x-22 = 16x-8\\14 = 10x\\x = 1.4

Hence the Value of x is 1.4
