3. x + 2y + 9 = 0, 3x + 4y + 17 = 0
substitute by simultaneous linear equations ​

Multiplying 3 in equation (i) we get

3x + 6y + 27 =0

and now subtract both the equations

we get

2y = 10

y=5

and x = -9-2(5)

= -9 -10

= -19 (Ans.)
