2x-3y = -8______________________(2)

BY USING ELIMINATION METHOD,

We will first multiply (1) with 2 and multiply (2) with 3 and subtract.

6x + 2y = -2

-6x + 9y = 24

So x gets cancelled,

11 y = 22

y = 22/11

y = 2

Now placing the value of y in Equation (1),

3x + 2= -1

3x = -3

x = -1 .

SUBSTITUTION METHOD:

In this we place the value of y in place of x in first equation and then we replace it in second equation to find the value of x in respect of y or vice versa.
