The value of y is (-5/3) or 6

Explanation:

•Given equation is 3(y-2)²-(y-2)-44

• By simplifying

3(y²+4-4y)-y+2-44= 0

3y²-13y-30= 0

•By method of factorisation,we get

3y²-18y+5y-30 = 0

3y(y-6)+5(y-6) = 0

(3y+5)(y-6) = 0

y = (-5/3) or 6.

• therefore through factorisation we got y as (-5/3) or 6.
