Answer:

Let the age of the son is x years. Then the age of the father would be 5x years. So at present the age of the son is 9 years and age of father is 45 years.

Answer:

  • Present age of father is 45 years.

Given:

  • The age of father 3 years ago is 7 times the age of his son.
  • Presently, Father's age is 5 times of his son's age.

To find:

  • Find the present age of father?

We know that,

The current age of them = F = 5S

Solution:

Let the age of son be S

And, Let the age of father be F

➥ F - 3 = 7 ( S - 3 )

➥ F - 3 = 7S - 21

  • We know that F = 5S. So, let us replace 5S in place of F

➥ 5S - 3 = 7S - 21

➥ -2S = -18

➥ S =  \bf \dfrac{ - 18}{ - 2}

➥ S = 9

Hence, Present age of son = 9 years.

Therefore, Present age of father = 45 years.
