280,000 was the population 3 years ago. And according to the question, it increased by 6% in the next year. 6% of 280,000 is 16,800.

                                                        9% of 280,000 is 25,200

                                                        50% of 280,000 is 140,000

And now we add all of the percentage answers with 280,000, which is 462000

So the present population of the town is 462,000
