Units are ignored in calculation.

Answer:

24 km/hr

Explanation:

Let the distance between A and B be S.

When from A to B :

⇒ speed = distance/time

⇒ 30 = S/time

⇒ time = S / 30

Similarly,

  When returning:

⇒ time = S / 20

    Hence,

⇒ Speed = ( total distance / time )

        = ( S + S ) / ( S/30 + S/20 )

        = ( S + S ) / [ ( 20S + 30S ) / 600 ]

        = 600( S + S ) / ( 50S )

        = 12( S + S ) / S

        = 12S( 1 + 1 ) / S

        = 12( 2 )

        = 24
