Cistron is a double stranded DNA segment which codes polypeptides.FOR CODING 30 amino acids 31 codons are needed.one codon is stop codon which never codes aminoacids.each codon is triplet.triplet have three nitrogen bases.each nitrogen base represent a nucleotide.so no. of nucleotide for 31 codons =31*3=93.THIS NUCLEOTIDES ARE FROM SINGLE STRAND OF CISTRON.so total no. Of nucleotides will 93+93=186(adding nucleotides of both strand)
