Given data : 30 circular plates, each of radius 14 cm and thickness 3 cm are placed one above the another to form a cylindrical solid.

Solution : Firsrtly, we have to find the thickness of the 30 circular plates and we know thickness of each plate is 3 cm.

∴ Thickness of 30 plates = 30 * 3 = 90 cm

Hence, height of 30 circular plates when they are mounted one above anather is 90 cm and their radius is 14 cm.

Here, we know if circular plates are mounted one above anather then they form cylindrical shape.

Now to find total surface area of 30 circular plates.

⟹ Total surface area of cylinder

= 2πr² + 2πrh

⟹ Total surface area of cylinder

= 2 * 22/7 * (14)² + 2 * 22/7 * 14 * 90

⟹ Total surface area of cylinder

= 2 * 22/7 * + 2 * 22/7 * 14 * 90

⟹ Total surface area of cylinder

= 2 * 22/7 * 196 + 2 * 22 * 2 * 90

⟹ Total surface area of cylinder

= 2 * 22 * 28 + 44 * 2 * 90

⟹ Total surface area of cylinder

= 44 * 28 + 88 * 90

⟹ Total surface area of cylinder

= 1232 + 7920

⟹ Total surface area of cylinder

= 9152 cm²

Answer : Hence, total surface area of 30 circular plates when they are mounted one above anather is 9152 cm².
