Answer:

Solution :

》Mass number denoted by M can be defined as the sum of the number of protons and electrons present in the nucleus of the atom.

OXYGEN -

Number of protons in oxygen = 8

Number of neutrons in oxygen = 8

So, Mass Number = 8 + 8 = 16 u

SULPHUR :

Number of protons in Sulphur = 16

Number of neutrons in Sulphur = 16

So, Mass Number = 16 + 16 = 32 u

In oxygen atom the number of proton is 8 and number of neutron is also 8. Mass number of O = 16. In sulphur atom the number of proton is 16 and number of neutron is also 16. Therefore Mass Number of Sulphur = 32
