The girls should leave after 28 days. (Option b)

Given:

Number of girls=30

To find:

The number of days after which 10 girls should leave

Solution:

Let the number of days after which the girls leave be X.

The number of days for which 30 girls will work=40-X

The work that is done=30×(40-X)

Now, 10 girls should leave.

The remaining girls=30-10=20

The work that is done=20×(46-X)

On equating the work done, we get

30×(40-X)=20×(46-X)

3(40-X)=2(46-X)

120-3X=92-2X

120-92=3X-2X

28=X

Therefore, the girls should leave after 28 days.
