Answer:

Xa= 0.166

Xb=0.833

Explanation:

concept - formula for mole fraction,X= no. of moles of solute / toal no. of mole of solute and solvent

given - weight of urea= 30

weight of water= 45

find - mole fraction of urea and water

explanation

mole fraction of urea,Xa= nA/ nA+nB

mole fraction of water,Xb= nB/nA+nB

moles of urea,nA= 30/60=0.5mol

moles of water,nB= 45/18=2.5mol

mole fraction of urea,Xa= nA/ nA+nB

Xa= 0.5/0.5+2.5

0.5/3=0.166

Xa= 0.166

mole fraction of water,Xb= nB/nA+nB

Xb= 2.5/0.5+2.5

2.5/3=0.833

Xb=0.833
