30. KCI is used as an electrolyte in salt bridge
because
(1) K+ and Cl- are isoelectronic
(2) Monovalent ions are required
(3) Both the ions have almost same velocity
(4) They are having similar size

The electrolyte in the salt bridge is so chosen that it does not react with any of the chemicals used in the cell.

The anion and cation have similar conductivity, and hence similar migratory speed.

K+ and Cl− ions have same ionic mobilities.

So option ( i ) is correct.
