it is not correct they use urea fertilizers which contain nitrogen.

But the crops like black gram and green gram are leguminous plants which have
Nitrogen fixing bacteria called RIZOBIUM which is present in root nodules
It convert the atmospheric nitrogen to essential component of nitrogen such as ammonia
So farmers did not need to supply nitrogen to such plants
